What should have been just another simple dive turned into a tragic accident when a German diver drowned after surfacing.
In an organized dive on August 4 at the Island Levarnaka near Kornati
Islands, around 6:30 – 7pm, bad weather forced a group of divers to surface.
As they were climbing into the boat, the 35-year-old German citizen failed to climb aboard after multiple attempts, fell in the sea, and drowned with full equipment still on her.
The autopsy report concluded the cause of death as drowning.
Several other divers that did not manage to get on board were found a few hours later.
