History

Lina was a 70-meter long and 9-meter wide merchant ship that sank in 1914 while transporting over 700 tons of wood cargo to Trieste, Italy. It hit the shore at Cape Pecenj, Cres, where it sunk and remains today at a depth of 55m.

The Dive

The wreck lies in an upright position, close to the shore, at depth from 28 (bow) to 55 meters. It is one of the most popular dive sites in Croatia.

Beginner divers with less experience can still have a great dive along the nearby wall, and if the visibility is decent, have a great look at “Lina”. The site is rich with marine life.

Suitable for: Advanced divers (Rescue Diver, CMAS**, NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver and their diving associations equivalents).
